What You Get from Eating Chili Peppers

I love chili peppers. I love them soaked in my favorite dips--soy sauce, vinegar, fish sauce, or a subtle mix thereof. all along, I thought they were just good for spicing and firing up dips until one day I saw how it contained lots of micro-nutrients my body needs, and especially for weight loss. So, the more I tried to incorporate them in my diet--which was hard.

I mean, how do you eat lots of chili peppers without getting your lips and tongue burned up and keeping yourself safe from hemorrhoids (if you're not a Bicolano)?

For one thing, chili peppers are rich in Vitamin C, and this vitamin is something you cannot afford to do without. From head to toe, you need enough Vitamin C--in fact, some experts say, you need a bit more than enough of it to sustain not just your immune system but other systems and organs as well. Without enough Vitamin C daily in your body, you age faster. To some folks, that's scary.

But the problem is, you don't get the Vitamin C you need by just putting in one chili pepper into your sauce. Some people can't stand even a whole chili pepper so they just use half of it. Half Vitamin C? That's ridiculous.

And the thing with Vitamin C is, you can't let chili peppers stand around sliced, chopped, or crushed unconsumed for more than 15 minutes. You have to eat them at once. Can you eat chili pepper? If you let sliced or chopped chili pepper exposed or untouched for more than 10 to 15 minutes, you lose the Vitamin C which easily gets evaporated. So what do you do? It's a shame to let all that Vitamin C go to waste while you're enjoying chili peppers.

And to think that it's not just Vitamin C you get from these veggie spice. You get a lot more, and weight loss or slimming down is just one of them!
