NOPE, it's not fattening. BUT--there's a big BUT here--it's fattening if you take liters of it everyday, which no one in his right mind would do. But don't get me wrong. Honey is sweet and has sugar (natural sugar) so it has carbohydrates. And yup, it can make you fat if you eat it daily in big amounts because carbs make you fat. I wonder if John the baptist was fat. He had honey and locusts as his daily meals. [Photo above from badyqb@bady, Unsplash].
But I can imagine John also shedding off pounds daily with the sweat he released from walking in the desert heat--plus his ministry activities in the desert. Anyway, taken in moderation and keeping up with your workout, honey will not make you fat. And it's a lot better than refined sugar. Honey (especially raw) has trace amounts of vitamins and minerals, unlike white sugar. Examples are choline, folate, and vitamin C. Minerals, we have calcium and potassium.
If you're trying to lose weight you don't need to sacrifice your need for sweets--unlike what strict diets make you. They tell you to cut out on sweets entirely. Our bodies are designed by God to need carbs, like sweets, but not the unhealthy kind, of course. White, refined sugar is processed and synthetic and anything synthetic and processed is not designed for our natural bodies.

There are a lot of alternatives to sugar that are not as harmful. Honey, stevia, muscovado, coco sugar, and brown sugar. I drink a special, all-natural guava juice with 15 berries without sugar. To my surprise it has a pleasant sweetness derived from the mix of berries, and kind of a bit sour, too. But it's mostly sweet. It's good for immune boost, antioxidants, energy, detox and digestive health. It helps in regular bowel movement. I like the sweet taste.
If you want to satisfy your sweet tooth and yet cut out on sugar, then try NUTRIMEAL shakes (vanilla, chocolate or strawberry) made by USANA. This thick, creamy, sweet, low-glycemic formula, rich in dietary fiber and protein gives you enough nutrients and energy. It also helps reduce your carbs craving. It can also serve as replacement meal, if you need it.
It's good to take health supplements that satisfy your sweet cravings but has no white sugar in them. If you really want to indulge in sweets (or something that tastes sweet), try safe and natural health supplements. I stay away from those with refined sugar. Sometimes, some of them claim they have "no added sugar." But what they mean is that the product already has sugar and they didn't add anymore sugar to it.
This is why I prefer unsweetened drinks or food and just add my own raw honey to them. I add just enough, remembering that it also has some carbs to watch out for--and yet it's a whole lot better than white sugar that has nothing in it but harmful sugar. At least honey has vitamins and minerals. So, watch out and opt for unsweetened products.
On the other hand, remember that you don't need strict diets. You may eat all you want (and need) in healthy proportions. And workout daily. That's all you need. And raw honey can definitely help here. I like taking my apple cider vinegar with honey. This is one way you prevent honey from giving you extra weight. Apple cider vinegar helps in weight loss.
The important health benefit you get from honey is really its antioxidants. With vitamins and minerals, you get only trace amounts. But antioxidants, you get a lot of. And antioxidants help you prevent heart diseases, hypertension, cancer and other deadly illnesses. But stay away from honey if you have diabetes. Remember, it has sugar. It has carbs. So ask your doctor first. I know some diabetics who are allowed by their doctors to take some honey.

To conclude, I believe in no-diet slim that lets you enjoy all the food you love, but in healthy proportions. That's not dieting--dieting has a different idea, leaning more on eliminating certain foods aside from limiting the quantity. We are not for that. We're for eating everything--as long as it's real food (and also, as long as your doctor doesn't forbid it if you have an illness).
